Intelligence profile: Cattell’s theory of intelligence:
The general factor of intelligence divides in to two: fluid intelligence and crystallized intelligence:
1 - Fluid intelligence is the ability for reasoning, which is the capacity of thinking logically and solving problems independent of obtained knowledge, which mainly depends on neural structures due to the inheritance. 2 - Crystallized intelligence grows with the use of Fluid intelligence in different learning environment. It is the ability to use skills, knowledge, and experience.
Stability of intelligence: Fluid intelligence increases up to the age of 14 years, after which remains constant until the age of 20 years, and then gradually declines. Crystallized intelligence grows to the age of about 40 years, and then gradually declines. |
